The fund is managed by an experienced team with in-depth knowledge of the Nordic fixed income market. DNB Asset Management is one of the largest players in the region in fixed income management and has delivered attractive results over more than 20 years.

The responsible manager is Anders Buvik, who holds a PhD and has over ten years of experience in developing risk systems and capital allocation at DNB. The team is led by Svein Aage Aanes, who has been at DNB since 1998 and has led the fixed income team since 2000. Also part of the team is Lene Våge, who has a background from, among others, Norges Bank Investment Management, ABG Sundal Collier, and Pareto, and who has been part of DNB Asset Management since 2014. Together, they combine broad experience with in-depth knowledge of the Nordic credit market.

Nordic High Yield follows a structured four-step investment process: macro analysis, risk assessment, company analysis, and portfolio composition. The managers combine global insights with local market expertise to identify attractive credit opportunities.

The investments are based on both quantitative and qualitative analyses, with a particular focus on risk factors such as interest rates, liquidity, and sustainability. The portfolio is continuously optimized to ensure good risk diversification and solid risk-adjusted returns over time.

The Nordic high yield market provides investors access to a less correlated part of the global credit market, and can thus contribute positively to portfolio diversification. The market is characterized by high transparency and stands out positively compared to several other regions.

A large proportion of the bonds have floating interest rates and short maturities, which results in low interest rate sensitivity and makes the fund more robust during periods of rising rates.

The segment is characterized by smaller issuances and fewer analysts, which provides good opportunities for active managers to identify mispriced securities. Previously, the energy sector was dominant, but today the market is broadly distributed across sectors such as banking, real estate, technology, and services.
